Today's lovely illustration comes to you courtesy of Romantic.

Remember when she, B. and I had a cake, knife and cigarette party in a park in Providence?

O HAPPY BOOKDAY

The brand new book is finally available for pre-order!!

WHY PREORDER?

Self-publishing a book of this complexity and size is an expensive and time-consuming project. Even though the book will not be shipping for another month, putting your orders in now help me recoup some of my expenses, gauge interest and streamline the shipping and packing process once the books arrive. I have poured my heart and soul into this project, so I believe you're already getting a tremendous value with the book, but I have also got a few incentives for the early adopters! First off, this is the first edition of the book, strictly limited to 400 copies. Each book will be signed and numbered, so early orders get lower numbers. Secondly, the first 40 orders will recieve a FREE surprise mini-poster with their book. Thirdly, it's my birthday. (I'm not really sure if that's an incentive or not, but it's true) Anyhow, here are more details about SET IT TO AWESOME and I hope you are as excited about it as I am.

ATTENTION PACIFIC NORTHWESTERNERS

I will be hitting your neck of the woods not once, but twice in the upcoming five weeks or so! On the weekend of April 26th & 27th, I will be exhibiting at the Stumptown Comics Fest in Portland, along with Malki and Aaron. Lots of other awesome folks like Nick Gurewitch, Scott C. and Tara Mcpherson will be there too! You should come on out if you are in the area, it will be a very pleasant experience.

Two weeks later, Malki and I will take on the Emerald City ComicCon in Seattle. (That's May 10th & 11th for those keeping score at home) This is the first time we are exhibiting at this show, but I have been told it is pretty sweet. There are way too many talented people coming to this show for me to begin to even list. I am really hoping I will debut my new book there, but that is still up in the air.

I can't wait to get back on the road and meet some old friends and make some new ones! See you soon, Portland & Seattle!

OH MAN I AM HAVING A BLAST

So for awhile Repro will be updating twice a week or so as Nama, our intrepid graphic designer, and I are laying out the super-sweet Set It To Awesome book. Man I have made a lot of comics! More details on that soon! But I have also been working some other fun things recently. Perhaps you'd like to take a peek around the studio?

TWO AMAZING ARTISTS I LIKE AND WANT TO SHARE WITH YOU

AMANDA VISELL

I had never really heard of Visell until her ultra-limited What Did I Eat Elephunt painted wooden toy/sculpture she released this summer at SDCC, but since then, both her new toys and paintings have really interested me. Her sense of humor amd ability to make stylized 3d versions (in wood!) of her motifs certainly are an attraction to me. Here's her site!

SCOTT C.

My favorite print I have currently is Scott's "Ogres" piece, that I picked up from him last April at APE. This guy is hilarious and incredible in his illustrative work. It's almost impossibe to describe some of his lovely watercolor and ink pieces, so you really should just check him out here right here!

I AM ON TELEVISION. INTERNET TELEVISION.

I woke up to a pleasant surprise today! Not only is the amazing artist/toymaker Tim Biskup featured on the latest episode of BoingBoing TV, so am I and Dr. Diesel, again demonstrating how to make a Red Robot really fast. This is a higher-res, more concise version than the YouTube clip I posted last month, so you should definitely check it out. It's really an honor to be paired with Biskup for BBtv, as I'm a big fan. (Ten of his toys are watching me type this right now.) Thanks Boing Boing!
