Here's a quick look at some more revamped Breakfast Paintings drying upstairs! I'll have some better pictures soon! Also, new comics!

PS - I have already started on the orders for the limited remakes of the first wave of the new Breakfast Paintings, so if you want a "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." or a "Breakfast Is Power II" you should act soon, as they are selling pretty briskly.

PPS- my ankle is feeling a lot better now, and I think I should be back in decent shape soon!

OUT WITH THE OLD

Well, I've got five more commissions and four Chess Baffler!s to get done by Christmas, so things are a little tight as far as making new spec puzzles for the next couple weeks. But everything will be OK.

As I am introducing the new models for 2010, the 2009 "Breakfast Is Power" Paintings will be available until the end of Sunday, December 6th. If you want one of these old-school hand-made pieces, please act now.

I have also somehow unearthed about 250 miniGhost blanks. I will be again selling miniGhost 6-Packs and Baker's Dozens until the 6th of December. (or until supply lasts) Perfect stocking stuffers or gifts for yourself if you need some fun spooky friends. These will not last long!

Finally, if you'd like to pick one of my more collaborative items, #9-#12 of "Bottle With A Bear Problem", the Bafflers I made with Andrew Bell, are now available, including #12 (pictured above) which Andy told me to "just go nuts with". I tried my best.

THIS YEAR IS KILLING ME

2009 has had it's share of wonderful things and surprises, but for the most part it has been one long hard slog in every way.

So, despite being neck-deep in commissions and various projects that will grow my business in the long term, I am currently again treading treacherous financial waters. So if you feel inclined to help out a starving artist at all, I've put up twelve awesome new Baffler!s up in the Toy Store, and I have slashed prices on all the remaining SL†Gs and Set It To Awesome books! We've also got our new and improved Poop Signs over at the brand-new TopatoCo store.

The holiday season is nearly upon us, and if you want unique gifts your family and friends will ENJOY TO THE MAX, you're at the right place! Beat the last-minute Xmas rush and support Reprographics/CY Studios - it's a win-win situation. Thanks for reading as always, hopefully I will make it around to 2010.

I have some more news about upcoming events and shows for THE WINTER that I will post soon. SOON.

THINGS ARE GOING TO CHANGE

It seems like a lot of folks have been saying that these days. Perhaps approaching the end of the first decade of the 21st century there's something wafting into the collective conciousness that makes us all re-evaluate. I don't really know.

The last two years have been overall excellent for me, however I have felt often that I was overburdened, underfinanced, and mostly worked in a state of creative auto-pilot. I made the things that people bought and kept making them over and over again. I would try new ideas to expand the business and scope of my work, and sometimes they would work and most of the time they wouldn't. And I have no complaints about this. I think I've made tons of mostly handmade things I'm really proud of, and am so happy I can sell them directly to my customers and fans for reasonable prices. I love this model.

But I am running out of time.

There's been a couple pretty huge and ambitious projects I have been wanting to really sink my teeth into, the kind of ideas that as much as you try to tell yourself 'No dude, it's totally awesome but will take you forever and never happen', and the more you hear yourself say that, the more you know you have to do it and soon.

So the long and short of it is that Reprographics ain't going anywhere for now (it is my favorite thing to do), we'll still be on our usual erratic schedule, usually 2-3 times a week, MWF-ish if I can swing it. However, the content of the strip may get even more mixed-media, esoteric, etc as I transition to the next level. But I have to stop stretching myself so thin, so...

I will stop taking commissions on September 15th.

Making custom Bafflers, Terraforms and other weird things has been no small part of my income over the years, and it is almost always an interesting experience to work directly with clients to create a special piece, but alas, they always take way longer than I think to complete. There are just only so many days I can devote to commissions, and I need to start freeing up those days up for Project X & Y. So I'm putting a hold on commission requests starting September 15th, for at least eight months. I don't really want to do this, but I just kind of have to at this point. So if you want anything custom that you'd like in hand within the next year, let me know ASAP/before the 15th and I will get you into the queue. You can contact me at superyates(at)gmail(dot)com.

miniGhosts, SuperMagnets, Interstate Maps and Chess Bafflers will also be leaving my Toy Store on September 15th.

I need to pare down my store offerings for an unspecified period of time for the same reasons listed above, so if you want any of these fine products, you have a little while before they disappear for who knows how long.

Rest assured, I am still very much in business, and I am still selling my core work like the Bafflers, SL†Gs, Breakfast Paintings, books and Poop Signs on this very site. And I appreciate all of you who have bothered to read this windy declaration and support my fragile/fertile enterprise of creative anarchy. You are the best. Stick around.

Yeah yeah, I know I've been a bit cryptic, but trust me, you don't want spoilers on the new project(s). TRUST ME
