Here's a quick look at some more revamped Breakfast Paintings drying upstairs! I'll have some better pictures soon! Also, new comics!
PS - I have already started on the orders for the limited remakes of the first wave of the new Breakfast Paintings, so if you want a "Tea. Earl Grey. Hot." or a "Breakfast Is Power II" you should act soon, as they are selling pretty briskly.
PPS- my ankle is feeling a lot better now, and I think I should be back in decent shape soon!

This is the tiny one! But hey it's only in it's second year and is a lot of fun. And it is free! It is also so indie they don't even have a website. Find me at the Downtown Tattered Cover from 10-4. I will have lots of cheap and nifty things available for my local friends!
AUGUST 21 / MINNEAPOLIS INDIE XPO / Minneapolis, MN
This is the new one! Inspired by a John Allison comic I cannot find, MIXPO will hold it's inaugural convention at a "Soap Factory" and is also free! I've been meaning to get up to that neck of the woods for some time now, so I am excited! I have heard there is also a "big party" afterwards. PARTY
SEPTEMBER 11-12 / SMALL PRESS EXPO / Bethesda, MD
This is the one right before I pick up my mother's old minivan and drive it back to Colorado! I know, it's a minivan, but it runs a lot better than my poor Ghostmobile. Oh, right, you want to know about the convention! SPX is a terrific show, completely dedicated to independent comics and artists. I will be somewhere within the TopatoCo MegaBooth and most likely debuting my production Bafflers at this event.

This is the one I love! It's a who's who of webcomics that's totally run by the artists themselves. Come join us for the best weekend of the year.

A BRIEF HISTORY OF MINIGHOSTS
Let us, for a moment, travel back in time. The year was 2006 and I was a year into this whole "making webcomics for some reason" thing. It was a good time, a naive, yet exciting time. As Twitter did not exist then, we were forced to use "discussion boards" to communicate with like-minded individuals online. Through such a interface, one in particular provided by a certain Mr. North, I met several other up-and-coming creators interested in furthering their enterprises and banding together to exhibit at "conventions".
Malki !, Colleen, Bernie, myself and several others decided we should do just that. But what to call our "comic collective"? I can recall a few of the many suggestions, one was "Foursquare", another was "Dodgeball". There was certainly some kind of theme going on here, and we settled on "Playground Ghosts". Huzzah!
We made some buttons and little samplers in anticipation of spreading our "brand" at shows, but I wanted to make something a little more special. The Playground Ghost logo was a dodgeball with a little ghost knocked out of it, and I had plenty of wood scraps lying around. Hmmm...
So we converged at our first major show, MoCCA, in New York in June. (remember we're still in 2006) Oh what a time! I met so many folks then that are now great friends and business partners. And we even sold enough things to make it worthwhile. But not the 100 little wooden ghosts I made. I was giving those away, and they were gone very quickly! People really loved them, maybe because they have a passing resemblance to a certain classic video game antagonist, or maybe because they were free?
Anyhow I started making them not free, but still pretty dang cheap, and people still loved them and cleared them off my convention tables. As time went on, Malki ! and I kept doing more and more shows together, but the "Playground Ghosts" moniker gradually faded. We were moving on to bigger and better things. But the miniGhosts never went away. They were one of the things I was known for.
I made hundreds a month, each batch a little tighter and ambitious. Certain characters like pirates, rabbits, ninjas, cactus, and angry nerds started to work their way in. Folks were buying dozens at a time for Bar Mitzvah party favors and to make Christmas tree ornaments and fridge magnets. They wanted more, more, more! I tried to make them available online from time to time, but they're a lot of work and so they were mostly a con-only kinda thing.
Until now! I have an assistant now, and a top-notch professional distributor, so we have all worked together to make a huge batch of the best miniGhosts I think have ever been made. And now that you've heard their story, perhaps you'd like some?

NEW DATES ON THE CY 2010 TOUR!
NEW YORK CITY AND MINNEAPOLIS TO BE PRECISE
This was going to be the year of "less-is-more" but I somehow got talked into exhibiting at a couple extra shows this Rotation around the Fiery Orb.
I will return once again after a year off to the MoCCA Festival in Manhattan on April 10th and 11th, this time at the Dumbrella booth. (HOLEY MOLEY THAT IS SOON)
Also, I will be at the BRAND-NEW Minneapolis Indie Xpo in the Twin Cities on August 21st! This should be fun, I have not explored that neck of the woods as well as I should have.

WHATS WITH ALL THIS IRREGULAR CONTENT
Reprographics long ago ceased to be just a scripted photocomic. You're going to be seeing a lot more drawn Shorthands, experimental shit, and shots of the new art. Gleam the cube while it's still a cube, is what I say.

THINGS ARE JUST GOING TO GET MORE RIDICULOUS
Yes it has come to this. The Poop Sign has proved so essential that myself and the fine folks at TopatoCo are now offering Poop Sign shirts and... adorable and poignant Baby Onesies!!! I know, it's pretty much a perfect match. Next time you need a gift for that baby shower, you know where to look.
